Hi! My name is Breanna McIntosh. I was born and raised here locally in Sumter, SC. I received my Master's in Speech Language Pathology from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC and my Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Columbia College. I take on a multi modal communication approach to communication, incorporating verbal speech, ASL (American Sign Language), and high tech speech generating AAC (augmentative & alternative communication) options while focusing on developing connections through child lead interests rather than focusing on compliance based therapy. When working with children who are on the Autism Spectrum I focus on acknowledging and appreciating autistic differences rather than trying to change the individual and honoring a child's sensory needs. I also encourage self advocacy with my patients of all ages, whether working on articulation, language or fluency.
